For not cleaning up his room, Billy Twitters's mother makes good on her threat to buy him a blue whale. Though owning one proves inconvenient, he discovers that the inside of the whale offers respite from his problems. Realistic touches in the illustrations make this fantastic scenario more believable. Humorous details and occasional whale facts help balance the self-consciously far-fetched story.
