Bottle Houses: The Creative World of Grandma Prisbrey

(2) K-3 Illustrated by Julie Paschkis. When nomadic Tressa Prisbrey retired to California, she built a house out of colored bottles found at the local dump, eventually creating an entire bottle village. Slaymaker presents free spirit Prisbrey with an appropriate combination of whimsy and respect, and Paschkis's bright watercolors display clean, shiny bottles that readers will long to reach out and touch (photos of the Bottle Village are also included).
