A soapy but highly entertaining romance is set on the stage of a high-stakes piano competition. With its high-minded setting and chastely sensuous romance, the book is reminiscent of some of the better "junior novels" of the 1950s, and if there isn't a plot turn or character we haven't seen before, they're expertly done, and the story is suspenseful and romantic.
