"Oh, how nice! It's raining mice! / Oh, happy day! All the dogs have run away!" Using simple, occasionally lyrical rhymes, a napping cat describes its dreams; when they turn scary, the cat's owner (and her lap) comes to the rescue. There's not quite enough to the book to give it staying power, although the painterly illustrations will make eyes linger.
