Illustrated by
Stacey Schuett.
With the refrain "Come see," angels herald shepherds who in turn awaken townspeople to celebrate and dance around the stable where Baby Jesus lies sleeping. The poetic text occasionally loses its rhythmic quality, but its brevity and repetition make it especially suitable for very young children. The silvery gleam of the star as well as the golden glow emanating from Baby Jesus offset the deep jewel tones of the illustrations.
