4-6Cascade Mountain Railroad Mysteries series.
Billy and Finn, whose fathers are helping build a new railroad tunnel in Washington's Cascade Mountains, try to uncover who took the crate of dynamite they found hidden in a storage shed. The plot is formulaic and the writing is pedestrian, but the setting--a real-life railroad camp in the 1920s--gives this story a bit more interest than most juvenile potboiler mysteries. A historical note is included.
