After some kids discover that their new teacher, Riff, is a dog, they commit to learning through imitation: barking, scratching, panting, etc. The students' dialogue-balloon asides add humor, but after a while the story becomes a one-note joke that goes nowhere. However, the art--full of angular shapes in bold, flat colors--never grows tiresome.
