4-6Electrigirl series.
Illustrated by
Cathy Brett.
Twelve-year-old Holly is struck by lightning and imbued with electrical superpowers. Her brother Joe and best friend Imogen help her learn how to control her new abilities to thwart the evil plots of Professor Macavity. Each book's format briefly changes to black-and-white comic illustrations whenever Holly uses her powers. Though the story lines are unfortunately insipid, the hybrid layouts may appeal to reluctant readers. Review covers these Electrigirl titles: Electrigirl, Electrigirl and the Deadly Swarm, and Electrigirl and the Invisible Thieves.
