As part of a science project, Cat adopts a more healthful lifestyle and begins to lose weight. She starts getting attention from guys, but only cares about once-best-friend-now-enemy Matt, who betrayed her four years prior. How he did so doesn't quite justify Cat's prolonged hatred of him; otherwise, Cat is a believably complicated character whose journey toward self-discovery is inspiring.
