This offbeat story claims to explain the origins of two types of sandwich cookies. Although Garibaldi really was a famous Italian general, everything else in this rather absurd story about war between the Italians and French Bourbons seems to be invented. Adult fans of Steadman's work may be intrigued, but only kids with heightened appreciation for the nonsensical will be interested.
