PS
Grizzle Grump wakes up hungry after hibernation, but his attempts to eat are constantly thwarted by other bears planning a surprise party. The story is full of silly sounds ("GRUMBLE RUMBLE GURGLE GARGLE") and is repetitive both in structure and language. The Prismacolor-pencil illustrations of bug-eyed, bucktoothed animals are goofy-looking but also unsettling (especially the yellow-eyed fish that become part of the picnic).
