The artist-author documents his stay in the Grand Canyon in watercolor illustrations and text that reads like a journal. These impressions of the natural beauty of the national park include reverent accounts of a variety of wildlife, rock formations, and weather, as well as historical information about the area. While Minor clearly admires the landscapes, his illustrations do not quite convey the vast grandeur of the canyon.
