K-3Animals and Their Babies series.
Each title provides a basic overview of the featured animal baby's growth from gestation through its first year. The simple texts are age-appropriate and engaging, but occasionally oversimplified to the point of imprecision (and neatly skip over the actual birthing process). Huge--in many cases nearly life-size--high-quality photos clearly chronicle the babies' maturation. Concluding visual word banks aren't particularly elucidating. Ind. Review covers these Animals and Their Babies titles: Cats and Kittens, Dogs and Puppies, and Horses and Foals.
