Stephen Gammell.
A Nobble, an elf-like creature, sets out in search of a friend. After much trouble, a small girl helps him find another Nobble, and the two wander off together. Williams's lengthy, elaborate prose meanders leisurely along with an adult sensibility, but Gammell's scratchy ink lines and textured watercolors bring the imaginary world and creatures to life for children.
