Winnie's friends all have pet monsters; why shouldn't she? Once Papa is persuaded, they make a trip to the Monsterium, choose an adorable Oogly-Wump, and name him Gus. Gus is more work than expected, but Winnie's enthusiasm prevails. Though the joke runs a bit long, Gravel's playful take on the new-pet trope employs dynamic comics-style illustrations full of sly visual humor.
