Iktomi and the Coyote: A Plains Indian Story

(3) K-3 Iktomi outwits the prairie dogs only to be outwitted himself by Coyote in this cheerfully grisly pourquoi tale about why prairie dogs' tails are tipped black--and why "they will never again trust two-leggeds." The book is perhaps peppered overmuch with Goble's anti-p.c. winking, but fans of the trickster-hero will enjoy his latest misadventure.
