After Father builds a cradle, Grandfather paints it, Grandmother sews a quilt for it, and Brother builds a mobile--and each takes a well-deserved nap when finished, sleeping "just like a baby." The refrain is repeated when the baby arrives and her crying is soothed as she's rocked to sleep in her cradle. The soothing, rhythmic text is well matched by the rounded, curving shapes dominating the cozy domestic scenes.
