Lily Brown's Paintings

(4) K-3 Illustrated by E. B. Lewis. Young Lily Brown sees the world with an artist's eye. In her paintings people walk upside down, trees wear hats, and "stars circle the planets." The imaginative text's dreamlike mood won't resonate with all readers, but some budding artists may be taken with Lily's vision of the world. Lewis's illustrations capture a child's naive, unselfconscious painting style.
