Linda S. Wingerter.
When it comes time for his daughter to marry, the sultan allows Aziza to devise a test: her husband-to-be must answer her riddle correctly. After many suitors fail the test, a farmer, who shares Aziza's love of numbers, provides the right answer. Nicely complementing the text are Wingerter's delicate illustrations, which subtly incorporate patterns on textiles, walls, and flooring. An explanation of Aziza's riddle is appended.
