A thunderstorm carries a pumpkin from a farm to an island near town. Soon, vines creep across a bridge and pumpkins begin "popping up all over town." As the pumpkins grow in number and size, the townspeople find creative uses for them: pumpkin-flinging contests, pumpkin boats and houses, and the "biggest Halloween celebration ever" lit by jack-o'-lantern light.
