As more and more trash accumulates in an empty city lot, a gang of rats moves in and bullies the peaceful bug residents. To the rodents' dismay, a group of girls and boys (with the bugs pitching in) cleans up the lot, recycles the trash, and plants a garden. The purposeful story is rounded out with amusing illustrations and notes about recycling.
