Lauren Stringer.
A child entertains himself on a rainy day, first by playing inside ("I may build block cities. I may read....I may play cars") and finally by donning his red boots and splashing in puddles outside. There is little story and no character development here, but the cozy tone is set by the minimalist text and by the colorful acrylic paintings that fill the pages and bleed off the edges.
