INTERMEDIATE FICTION
McCoy, Chris

Scurvy Goonda

(4) 4-6 There are imaginary friends, and then there are their friends. Ted starts with one "abstract companion," but the titular pirate with a taste for raw bacon is only the first in a long line of not-quite-there characters that populate the story. Though McCoy's text occasionally strains for humor, it doesn't suffer from any shortage of imagination.
