Sir Lofty & Sir Tubb

(4) K-3 The Loftys and the Tubbs, once harmonious neighbors, become jealous and greedy when a single beautiful flower grows between their homes. Fighting over the flower destroys it but also scatters its seeds, evenly, onto each property, restoring balance and friendship. The story's moral about sharing and cooperation is undercut by its too-easy resolution. Color-rich illustrations with surrealist touches are appealing.
