One rainy day a bored squirrel pulls out his baby teeth, frees the tooth fairy from a spider web, and is given a nut containing powerful magic. Each spread includes sprightly rhyming text on the left-hand page and comic-panel illustrations--black-and-white until nearly the end--on the facing page. The story's conclusion, in which rainbows color Squirrelly's drab world, is a letdown.
