The Adventures of Little Nutbrown Hare

(4) PS Each of four measured, introspective, satisfying stories--one is about facing fears, another about listening to one's conscience--revolves around Little Nutbrown Hare and his (presumed) father, Big Nutbrown Hare, whose protectiveness is both an irritant and, more often, a source of reassurance. The meadowland-set illustrations are idyllic but grow monotonous, especially as the two hares are the book's only characters.
