A tiger and his animal friends disagree on the type of cake to make: carrot, bone, etc. The story--told in dialogue balloons attached to simple illustrations of the cast--ends with the animals throwing a cake at the tiger. Readers can decide if the name-calling and multiple acts of food-throwing are funny or mean-spirited; the ending hits a sour note.
