When Robert unaccountably finds himself lost in a jungle and defending himself against huge, monstrous animals, it seems as if we're reading some kind of alternate-reality story. In fact, he's just across the street from his house, but grown very tiny. This first volume of a projected trilogy generates plenty of excitement and suspense but ends very much up in the air.
