Douglas B. Jones.
This glimpse of a typical morning in the life of a milkman is written in unfailingly tight rhyming fragments. The concrete imagery ("Double milk for Morgan twins. / Red house full of Kansas kin") creates a rich portrait of a community. This impressive feat is abetted by Jones's McCloskey-esque art evoking an earlier but not unfamiliar era.
