In this reworking of Kellogg's 1974 book The Mystery of the Missing Red Mitten, both text and illustrations have been redone, although the core story is essentially unchanged. The original book was quite small, and the illustrations were black and white except for the red mitten. This large, full-color edition is easier to find on the shelf, but much of the charm is gone and the mitten is certainly lost on the busy pages.
