This Is Figure Skating

(4) K-3 Illustrated by John O'Brien. A simple introduction describes the emotional and physical sensations of figure skating and identifies some of the basic components, such as spins and jumps. The mildly poetic text and color illustrations of crowded rinks have appeal but are short on information. Strangely, the only time skating is referred to as a "sport" is when a skater is shown with a hockey stick in hand.
