Thump and Plunk, two small ducklings, continuously thump and plunk each other until Mother stops the fighting. While the bright cartoonlike illustrations and the tongue-twister text may be enjoyable for some, other beginning readers may get confused by the use of similar words for characters, verbs, and the ducklings' dolls' names (Thumpit and Plunkit).
