Crackle! and Pop! characters for Rice Krispies cereal in the 1930s, also illustrated nursery rhymes that appeared on the back of the cereal boxes. Twenty-four of those are reproduced here, revealing a crisp sense of graphic design and flair as a colorist. As charming as his elfin storyland denizens are, this may be most appealing to those interested in the history of commercial art.
