Georgia Graham.
Wanda brings some tadpoles to school. After they mature into frogs, Wanda's teacher brings most of them to the creek, but Wanda takes a few home--with comical results. This generally pleasant story has some pacing problems. The chalk pastel illustrations are serviceable (although Wanda's parents are caricaturishly grotesque), but the black type is hard to read over the scribbly backgrounds.
