Dramatic photographs of British Columbia's Great Bear Rainforest area accompany this story of a lone wolf that lives on one of the small offshore islands. The narrative covers what these wolves (who could "be considered marine mammals") eat, how they find mates, and how they raise pups. Though the text veers toward anthropomorphism at times, this is an engagingly up-close visit with the species.
