Emma, an imaginative and artistic girl fascinated with Vikings, sees an ad in the paper for a Viking ship and asks to have it, although she can't afford the price. Her quixotic dreams are realized when the ship arrives. Based on events in the author's life, the slightly overlong text doesn't explain how the conclusion comes about. Energetic mixed-media and collage illustrations celebrate imagination.
