Horn Book Herald: November 2024

One springlike day earlier this month, my eleven-year-old and I observed some fascinating seagull behavior (who knew?) at Revere Beach. Animals are of perennial interest to young people, and this issue of The Horn Book Herald, including nonfiction, picture books, and early readers, highlights our furry, feathered, and other (non-human) animal friends.

We’re still buzzing (bees!) with excitement about our recent in-person events — last week’s Evening of Dialogue and yesterday’s Boston Globe–Horn Book Awards Ceremony — in commemoration of the Horn Book’s hundredth birthday. Up next for horn-blowing is our annual Fanfare best-books list. It debuts on our website December 9 and will be featured in Notes from the Horn Book, coming to your inbox on December 11. Tell your friends to sign up for Notes! And let us know what you think of the Herald so far at newsletter@hbook.com.
