The arrival of this Caldecott winner in Spanish is a joyous event. Blanco's spot-on translation perfectly captures the rhythms and cadences of Henkes's original English-language version, in which a kitten thinks the full moon is a bowl of milk. The care taken to get the linguistic details and design just right is evident.

Very well translated, this Spanish edition of 'Why Mosquitos Buzz in People's Ears' is respectful of the dialogue in the original version. The illustrations in this Caldecott medal winner complement and animate this amusing 'pourquoi' tale from West Africa.
