Wrapping up the epic de Granville trilogy, this third installment maintains the action-packed tension of its predecessors. As he faces the betrayal of his Saracen friend Kamil, Will carries out his tumultuous mission to ransom King Richard. Historical facts about medieval Europe are woven into the narrative, though the female roles, which seem too modern, are distracting.
