Big Buddy Pop Biographies series.
In each standard-issue biography, readers are introduced to the celebrity's early life and family, career, achievements, business ventures, and charitable works. The cheerful, adulatory texts are peppered with gratuitous exclamation points (as contestants on Dancing with the Stars, "Zendaya and her partner won second place!") and are accompanied by stock photos and "Did You Know?" boxes. There are four other fall 2017 books in this series. Glos., ind. Review covers these Big Buddy Pop Biographies titles:Demi Lovato, Ed Sheeran, Emma Watson, and Zendaya.

Pop Culture Bios: Superstars series.
These biographies of young actors and musicians chronicle their subjects' lives and careers in casual, conversational text that will appeal to tweens. Each book touches on its star's struggles (Lovato's eating disorder, Thorne's dyslexia), introduces industry lingo (callback, one-hit wonder), and features plenty of glossy photos. Fans probably won't learn anything new in these superficial profiles. Reading list, websites. Ind. Review covers these Pop Culture Bios: Superstars titles: Bella Thorne, Carly Rae Jepsen, Cody Simpson, The Wanted, Demi Lovato, and Victoria Justice.

Big Buddy Biographies series.
Easy-to-read texts detail the backgrounds and later fame of popular figures. The Lovato and Obama girls' volumes offer little that couldn't be learned through a quick Internet search; Depp's biography is a bit more detailed. Many photographs appear throughout the books. Captions and brief "Did you know..." sidebars give additional information. Glos., ind. Review covers these Big Buddy Biographies titles: Demi Lovato, Johnny Depp, and Sasha & Malia Obama.
