Misadventures of Benjamin Bartholomew Piff series.
Promoted to head of Kids' Birthday Wishes at the Wishworks Factory, Ben finds himself in hot water when his identity is revealed, allowing his spoiled cousin Penelope to use the information for her own nefarious purposes. This cotton-candy fantasy features unoriginal character types and overly familiar plot twists but is bolstered by a unique setting.

Misadventures of Benjamin Bartholomew Piff series.
An unlimited birthday wish allows Ben to convert his Dickensian orphanage into a paradise. This creates problems for the magical wish-granters when Ben's powerful wish is stolen and used to give unheard-of powers to the Curseworks corporation, necessitating a good-versus-evil showdown. The characters are a bit flat, but the setting is vividly depicted.
