This starter guide touches on how to find story ideas, identifies the basic elements of fiction (such as characters, action, and dialogue), and explains the importance of revision and rewriting. Although the bland prose is sometimes repetitive, aspiring writers will appreciate the tips and "try this" assignments scattered throughout--as well as the book's generally encouraging tone. Ind.
