In each standard-issue biography, readers are introduced to the celebrity's early life and family, career, achievements, business ventures, and charitable works. The cheerful, adulatory texts are peppered with gratuitous exclamation points (as contestants on Dancing with the Stars, "Zendaya and her partner won second place!") and are accompanied by stock photos and "Did You Know?" boxes. Pop Culture Bios series.
Each volume in this series superficially discusses the featured young celebrity's childhood, early projects, rise to current stardom, and, when applicable, causes (e.g., Watson's free-trade clothing line; Wilson's focus on positive body image). Sidebars define unfamiliar lingo and offer "favs," "peeves," and other trivia. Brightly colored layouts and copious stock photos emphasize the text's casual, teenybopper-magazine tone. This series offers biographical information about popular young stars. The texts, though bland and very light on content, are easy to read, and their subjects may be of interest to children.
