Caz and Lucy get thrills from stealing into people's bedrooms. One night a sleeper wakes and shackles Caz with a magical bracelet that leaves behind a tattoo--and the gift/curse of telepathy. The story moves quickly and eventfully. By highlighting Caz's crudeness at the beginning, Joyce underscores her more compassionate and mature perspective at book's end.

TWOC stands for "taken without owner's consent," and a "twoccer" is someone like Matt, who steals cars. This hobby gets him sent to a juvenile rehabilitation camp where he and two other attendees face their demons. Matt's character feels slightly off-balance throughout, and a late-introduced plot twist doesn't quite work. A key to British slang is provided.
