In this follow-up to Millie Fierce, the protagonist hosts a backyard sleepover for her friends. Millie is determined to control her temper and keep herself "fierce-free." She manages to do so until a snarling dog scares her friends (an authorial voice obtrusively ends the narrative with "Sometimes it takes a little ferocity to set things right"). Outdoorsy watercolor illustrations set the scene.

Tired of being meek, Jekyll-like Millie does a Mr. Hyde and terrorizes everyone at home and school...until she learns that being fierce has its downside. The ending seems abrupt, but otherwise this tartly illustrated story about finding oneself is well done and comical (to prepare for her new personality, "Millie frizzed out her hair and made the crazy eye").

Felicity the witch can't resist turning herself into a tiger-striped cat every night, though she knows she won't be able to change back after her ninth transformation. In an unexpected and satisfying conclusion, she decides to become a cat forever. The illustrations, featuring warty witches and a grinning feline Felicity, lend a light tone to this tale inspired by an Irish legend.
