In Sophie and Goose's latest (Goose; Goose Goes to School), the amiable pair goes to the zoo, where Goose meets fellow feathered friends, and then to a farm, where Goose also makes a new (non-feathered) pal ("Baaaaa!"). As usual, Wall's digitally finished charcoal drawings use bold colors and thick black lines to convey all the preschooler-perfect feelings and antics. Review covers these titles: Goose Goes to the Zoo and Goose on the Farm.

Sophie is going to school, "but Goose can't come." This follow-up to Goose is another or-can-he? story, as Sophie goes about her day with the feeling that Goose is lurking ("she hears flappy footsteps behind her"). Goose's grand entrance and takeover of the students' attention is merry-making, and Wall's illustrations evoke tons of emotion with simple lines on clean, brightly colored backgrounds.

Lonely little Sophie is used to playing dolls and dress-up by herself until she meets a goose at the park whom she plays with and wants to bring home. "But Mom says no." The story isn't very well developed (wait: now Mom says yes?), but Wall's digitally finished charcoal illustrations are notable for their clean lines, saturated colors, and frolicsome energy.
