Summer in Antarctica means melting ice, baby penguins and seals, and an increasing supply of phytoplankton and algae--food for many creatures. The text is clear, about one paragraph per double-page spread, and the photographs provide wondrous glimpses into life on top of and below the ice. With engaging animals and amazing sea life, this book is a fine introduction to Antarctica for students.
