The twenty-seven verses in this attractive volume include a number of old favorites written by the likes of A. A. Milne, Christina Rossetti, and Robert Louis Stevenson, and some by modern poets, including Norma Farber and Lilian Moore. The collection hews to the straight and narrow, but the quality is consistently high, and the whole is considerably enhanced by first-time illustrator Meret's sepia-colored pencil illustrations. Ind.
