In this story designed to introduce deductive reasoning, bad puns and misfired jokes get in the way of the narrative's agenda. The boldly colored illustrations will draw readers into the lesson. Each of the kids in the story is humorously shown with the parrot trait described (one girl has a foot with four toes, two of them pointed backward). Random use of bold type is somewhat distracting. Includes "fun facts" and a craft, plus information on parrots as pets.
