Ralph has trouble thinking up a story while his classmates write with ease. His teacher's mantra, "Stories are everywhere!" is both encouraging and frustrating for Ralph as he struggles, but things finally click after some peer encouragement. Watercolor and colored-pencil illustrations of stick-people characters in a cozy classroom are endearingly childlike yet sophisticated in their details. Appended writing tips are amusing and useful.
